My Work.
I have choreographed for 3 Fall Dance shows at Sonoma State University, all in collaboration with the dancers involved in my piece. Each time has been different and opened up new creative doors for myself which has opened my eyes to the opportunity for creativity in many different circumstances. From having to cancel rehearsals due to catastrophic fires and a global pandemic limiting the options for what I could create, I am so grateful for each opportunity that I've had to create. I believe that this space has kept me alive during these difficult times.

"... and have some fun"I choreographed, "... and have some fun" for the fall dance show at Sonoma State University in 2018. This piece was a mix of jazz and funk that was set to the song, "Groove is in the Heart" by Deee-Lite. This process was really collaborative with my dancers and explored the idea of having fun, being playful and having a dance party with friends!
PillarsI choreographed Pillars for the Fall Dance show at Sonoma State University in 2019. This piece was more of the style of modern and was set to original music composed by Jesse Olsen Bay. In this piece I was really interested in how my dancers could support each other in various ways, whether it meant through movement or actually holding and lifting one another.
EquilibriumI choreographed Equilibrium for Sonoma State University's Fall Dance Show 2020: Unity Through Movement. This production was like nothing I have ever done before in that it was a completely virtual show. We put on this entire show virtually with all prerecorded dance films that we edited and produced in everyone's remote locations, due to COVID-19. This experience really gave me the confidence and the curiosity to keep exploring dance films. I explored the idea of finding balance within oneself and with each other during this difficult time by utilizing the elements of earth, air and water to deeply investigate the topic.
